5 DAYS GAME VIEWING AND GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI

Overview

On this 5days Uganda safari, you will view the great game in the savanna plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the park is a premier destination for game safaris with the famous tree climbing Lions in Ishasha sector, where as the Mweya Peninsular and Katwe plains are known for hosting an array of wildlife. You will also track the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a world class tourism destination recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and protects nearly half of the remaining Gorilla population.

Day 1: Departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early breakfast at your accommodation in Kampala, you will be met by your guide then transfer to Queen Elizabeth. You will break-off twice en-route at the Equator for a short tour, photographs and souvenir shopping as well as in Mbarara for lunch. Later proceed to the park arriving in the evening hours. Meal Plan: Half Board. Overnight: Mweya Safari lodge (luxury)/ Marafiki lodge (midrange)/ Simba Safari Camp (basic).

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

After breakfast, leave the lodge and go for a game drive through the savannas to lookout for mammals and other species frequenting the plains. Trails through Kasenyi expect to see the Buffalos, Warthogs, African Elephants, and Antelopes among others and occasionally Lions and Leopards.  After lunch go for a boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel where you will see variety of wildlife especially Hippopotamus and the game lingering along the shores. Meal Plan: Full Board, Overnight: Mweya Safari lodge (luxury)/ Marafiki lodge (midrange) or Simba Safari Camp (basic).

 

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Leave for Bwindi after breakfast, continue through the southern sector of Ishasha, Game drive through the area for chances to see the tree climbing Lions as they lounge in the branches spotting their pray. Later continue to Bwindi and check-in at the lodge where dinner and overnight will be. Meal Plan: Full Board, Overnight: Buhoma Lodge (luxury)/ Silverback lodge (midrange) or Buhoma Community rest camp (basic).

 Day 4: Tracking the Mountain Gorillas in the wilds of Bwindi

Start with an early breakfast, leave the lodge with packed lunch boxes and head to the registration area. The ranger guide will take you through briefing and at 0830 hours, enter the forest to track the Gorillas. The activity can last for just a few hours or through the entire day depending on the location and movement of the Gorillas. Once you find them, you will be given an hour in their presence to watch them. Later go back to the start point and then be transfered back to the lodge. Meal Plan: Full Board, Overnight: Buhoma lodge (luxury)/ Silverback lodge (midrange)/ Buhoma Community rest camp (basic).

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe airport

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, checkout in the midmorning hours and set in for a drive back to Kampala. On arrival, you will either be dropped at the hotel or be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
