On this grand Uganda wildlife safari, you will visit some of the most interesting wildlife spots in the “Pearl of Africa”. Uganda is a bustling wildlife viewing destination with more than 90 mammal species among which are the African Big Five such as the Leopard, Lion, Rhinoceros, Buffalo and the African Elephant. It hosts more than 13 Primate Species and on this safari, you will encounter some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife species within the country’s reserves. You will visit Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth to watch the game variety in these savanna parks as well as Kibale Forest National Park for primate tracking.
Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum
After an early breakfast, your guide will meet you at your overnight accommodation in Kampala/Entebbe, receive briefing and embark on an early journey northwards to Kitgum. You will have a lunch break en-route and later proceed with a scenic drive through the great Acholi-land, all the way to the hotel in Kitgum where dinner and overnight will be. Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Leave the accommodation after breakfast and transfer very early to Kidepo National Park, on arrival, proceed to the booked accommodation, check-in and after lunch go for game viewing experience through the Narus valley where most of the wildlife congregates. You will see large herds of Cape Buffalos, Rothschild’s Giraffes and many others. Later in the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Game viewing and Community encounter
Leave the lodge after breakfast and with your packed lunch boxes, go for a morning game drive to the hot springs following the palm tree lined Kidepo River. Expect to see some of the interesting wildlife species such as; the Ostriches and Leopard tortoises along the way, Buffaloes among other wildlife. Have a lunch break later in the afternoon, and then go for a palate of the African culture as you meet the local communities to see their craftsmanship, values and traditions. Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Check-out from the lodge after breakfast and leave for Murchison Falls which is situated in the northwestern part of the country. You will break-off enroute for lunch and continue later with the journey arriving the park area in the evening hours. Proceed to the lodge for relaxation, it’s here dinner and overnight will be. Day 5: Launch cruise and Game drive
Leave the lodge after breakfast for a remarkable experience on a launch trip along the majestic waters of the Nile River. This trip sets off from Paraa all the way to the bottom of the falls where the Nile falls off into the Devil’s Cauldron at a height of over 45 meters. Along the banks you will be able to see some game and wildlife. You will later return to Paraa and head to the top of the falls. Have lunch and later in the afternoon you will go for a game drive through the game tracks on the northern bank where you will see lots of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 6: Leave for Kibale National Park
Checkout from the lodge after breakfast, leave the park and transfer Southwards through the great Bunyoro region on the drive to Kibale via Fort Portal. Enroute, you will have a lunch break before getting to Kibale. On arrival, you will head to the park area and check-in at the booked accommodation, relax off from the long journey. Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk in Bigodi
Transfer to Kanyancu reception area after breakfast, you will be taken through briefing from the ranger guide about the Chimpanzee tracking etiquette and later enter the forest to find these primates. The forest is rich in diversity with other 12 species of primates which you may encounter on this nature walk, over 370 bird species with more than 6 endemics of the Albertine rift area and some interesting tree species like the Adam tree.
Later in the afternoon after lunch, go to Bigodi wetland for a 3 hours long nature walk to see the wildlife such as mammals, birds and primates in this area. Meal Plan: Full Board, Overnight: At selected hotel
Day 8: crater Lake trail and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park
Leave the lodge after breakfast and transfer to explore the Nkuruba crater lake trail, the 3-4 hour long trail will let you visit craters, encounter communities and tea fields. Later leave for Queen Elizabeth after lunch arriving in the evening hours at your booked accommodation. Meal Plan: Full Board, Overnight: At selected hotel
Day 9: Game drive and Launch trip
Go for an early game drive after breakfast, the drive will let you through Kaseyi plains where you will see a number of wildlife at dawn. You will meet the early grazers moving across a huge expanse of savanna. In the late afternoon after lunch, you will go for a launch cruise along the tranquil waters of Kazinga channel, you will see Hippopotamuses, Buffalos and Elephants among other wildlife along the shores. Day 10: Transfer back to Kampala
Today after breakfast, checkout from the lodge and transfer back to Kampala. Enroute, you will break-off for lunch and at the Equator for a simple tour at this prime spot where the world is bisected into two halves. Continue to Kampala, you will be dropped off at the hotel or at the airport in Entebbe.
